{"id":2001,"date":"2023-03-21T23:06:20","date_gmt":"2023-03-22T05:06:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oldhippie.com\/?p=2001"},"modified":"2023-03-21T23:06:21","modified_gmt":"2023-03-22T05:06:21","slug":"how-i-spent-my-spring-break-in-florida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oldhippie.com\/index.php\/2023\/03\/21\/how-i-spent-my-spring-break-in-florida\/","title":{"rendered":"How I Spent My Spring Break in Florida"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">By Dave Schultz<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>The below is a couple of frames from a video of my wreck last Friday at Orlando Speed World.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nssracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/twlaunchd.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-769\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">All started out fine, I even had a killer light of .002<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nssracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/wreckedtimeslip-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-770\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m typically, a high 3-second 330&#8242;, but still fast enough to be in front of Corky<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nssracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/twlaunch9-1024x630.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-771\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Maybe 150-200&#8242; out I the Oil Filter Seal pushed out, but I never saw the smoke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Suddenly, I heard a loud noise from the rear and the car made a hard right just as Corky Bumpus was passing me in the Left lane. I lifted, but that&#8217;s all I could do as the Passenger side of the AR was in the air and I was looking out the window at the pavement. I thought I&#8217;d lost the Driver&#8217;s slick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I thought I was going to roll and was expecting to eat glass. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nssracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/teroll1a-1024x557.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-772\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nssracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/twroll1d-1024x503.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-774\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nssracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/twroll1b-1024x581.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-773\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nssracing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/twroll1a-1024x511.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-775\" width=\"867\" height=\"434\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>As you can see from the above frames, I&#8217;d beat Corky to the 330&#8242; and was going as fast as him sideways. The right side came back down and the front of the car was just about to hit the wall.
